So, in order or avoid the TL notes as we said we would do earlier, we included Translator Corner out here, which, since melding translator notes into text, hasn’t been necessary. But now it comes in handy again!
Translating names is notoriously difficult. Our Chinese is probably nowhere near good enough to attempt this, since some names have strong literary references, historical references and other references which can make it really difficult to guess exactly what the namer intended. Sometimes people pick characters mainly for how they sound. If you know, we welcome correction :3
A new character, Fan NanJie, has been mentioned before. His name roughly means Fan (family name) Southern Hero.
