Big Dawgz

Below is some information to help visualize some setting elements in this chapter. This is also known as….Photobomb!

blackfurballofdoom

So we know that Wang ShunXi is a Tibetan Mastiff breeder. The Chinese for this breed is 藏獒 Cáng’áo, and it has been known since ancient times as a fearsome and powerful guard dog.

When this chapter was written, Tibetan Mastiffs were all the rage in China as a status symbol, some dogs selling for as much as $600k.

Tibetan Mastiffs, or “Mastiffs” as we wrote in the translation, are not actually Mastiffs. Sorry, it just got too cluttered in English saying Tibetan Mastiff all the time, when it’s only two syllables in Chinese so not nearly as jumbled.

Dat jaw looks just like Grom Hellscream.

Tibetan Mastiffs are guardian dogs used to protect property – in ancient times they protected flocks of sheep from leopards, mountain lions, and I even heard from bears once.

Now I bet you’re wondering what these dogs look like when they’re actually FIGHTING, cuz zOMG it looks like an angry BEAR.  Or maybe even SIMBA. Well here you go:

Guaranteed to happen next chapter: Doggie Dragon Punch!

catslapsmastiff

This cat is a true expert, don’t blame the doggie. Believe it or not the caption says: With one slash to split Mt. Hua, it ruthlessly flashed with menacing eyes, as the Kitty Long Ruan blade descended on it’s face!….ok.  so I lied.
